Today, one year later, Acta Energy comes back to Carrara after making headlines for the initiatives undertaken over the whole 2010, including the launch of HIDRO the first tender powered by hydrogen. Thanks to the important feedback had in the nautical sector, new studies have been carried out, but also new implementations of existing products range, allowing anyone to be able to introduce, in their daily life, systems that can dramatically reduce harmful emissions without huge economicalinvestment.

The two innovation presented during the show were:

HIDRO SELF POWER. Compact and easy to transport and assemble, this system can generate hydrogen from clean solar energy at zero cost, without any environmental impact and in absolute autonomy. 1 kw photovoltaic canopy transfers solar energy to Acta's hydrogen generator EL200 that transforms and accumulates solar energy in pure, compressed and dry hydrogen fuel, consuming only distilled water. HIDRO SELF POWER canopy takes limited space (approx 3m x 2m) and thanks to that could be easily installed anywhere.
 
HIDRO1000 POWERTRAIN. Electrical outboard engine connected to a Power Generator. Thanks to a fuel cell inside the Power Generator, the stored hydrogen is used to charge the internal battery of the electrical engine designed by Acta. The combination of Power Generator and HIDRO1000 POWER TRAIN, allows the enhancement of the boat performance in terms of autonomy, overcoming the main problems associated with classic electrical engines and coming close to the level of a petrol powered engine.

E' trascorso esattamente un anno da quando Acta Energy, azienda toscana specializzata in sistemi per la produzione di energia pulita, approdava a Carrara proponendo al pubblico degli amanti della nautica un prodotto innovativo, ma ancora giovane e in fase di sperimentazione. Ciò nonostante l'EL100, generatore d'idrogeno portatile, riuscì ad aggiudicarsi il Qualitec Technology Award con estrema felicità e soddisfazione da parte di tutta l'azienda.

Oggi a distanza di un anno, Acta Energy torna a Carrara dopo aver fatto parlare di sé per le iniziative promosse nell'arco di tutto il 2010 tra cui il lancio di HIDRO il primo tender alimentato ad idrogeno. Grazie agli importanti riscontri avuti nel settore nautico, sono stati portati avanti nuovi studi, ma anche nuove implementazioni al range di prodotti preesistenti, per consentire a chiunque di poter introdurre nella propria quotidianità sistemi in grado di ridurre drasticamente le emissioni nocive, senza ingenti investimenti economici.

Due le principali novità esposte al SEATEC: HIDRO SELF POWER ed HIDRO 1000 POWERTRAIN.

In the photo gallery it is possible to see the NEDC cycle, the table of results with injection of hydrogen at 2.5 l/min (150 l/hr) in comparison to the same measurements without enrichment.  The results include a 41% reduction in the emission of carbon particulates (PM) into the atmosphere.

In the New Year the last test cycle will take place before the definitive validation of the product.  We are intending to select a partner from a number of interested transport companies for the beta test of the kit.  It is planned that 10 kits will be installed on various trucks (5 on 6 litre trucks, 5 on 14 litre trucks) for a test cycle of 30 days (15 without hydrogen, 15 with hydrogen enrichment).  In addition, KFT (www.kft.it) equipment is to be installed on each truck that will track the telemetric data and transmit it via GSM to a web portal.  The collaboration with KFT is expected to continue also in the commercialization phase of the kit.

The three cells, reproduced in the photographs, are of 125, 250 and 500 l/hr, adapted according to the size of the vehicle.

Con il nuovo anno inoltre prenderà il via l'ultimo ciclo di test prima della definitiva validazione del prodotto.   Stiamo selezionando tra le diverse compagnie di trasporto interessate il partner per il beta test del kit. Verranno installati 10 kit su altrettanti camion (5 su 6,0 litri e 5 su 14,0 litri) per un ciclo di test di 30 giorni (15 senza idrogeno e 15 con enrichment); verrà inoltre installato su ogni camion un apparato di KFT (www.kft.it) che rileverà i dati telemetrici trasmettendoli via gsm su un portale. La collaborazione con KFT continuerà anche nella fase di commercializzazione del kit.

Le tre celle, riprodotte nella fotografia, sono da 125/250/500 l/h a seconda della dimensione del veicolo.

Genova - Martedì 5 ottobre 2010, presso la Sala Mezzanino nel nuovo PADIGLIONE B, si è tenuta un'importante tavola rotonda relativa al futuro green dell'industria nautica. Un argomento caro ad Ucina, che non solo ha esposto i propri sforzi nel settore grazie al progetto ELB (End of Life Boats), ma ha raccolto, selezionato, attraverso un Comitato Scientifico, e raccontato alcune tra le più rilevanti esperienze di ricerca, sviluppo e applicazione industriale, segnalate dalle aziende partecipanti al Salone Nautico 2010.

Tra i 12 progetti più innovativi è stato scelto anche HIDRO SYSTEM di Acta Energy e Marine Supply. Le due aziende infatti, si operano da tempo nella realizzazione di nuovi sistemi di propulsione e generazione di idrogeno, oltre ad una linea di tender e battelli, HIDRO, anch'essa focalizzata sul basso impatto ambientale e lo sfruttamento delle energie rinnovabili. Un progetto unico che vede l'idrogeno come la principale risorsa del futuro. Relatori e portavoce dei 12 progetti selezionati, alcuni tra i più importanti esponenti delle istituzioni e associazioni nazionali legate al tema ambientale tra i quali: il Senatore Antonio D'Alì, Presidente della 13esima Commissione Territorio e Ambiente del Senato; Renato Grimaldi, D.G. Protezione Natura del Ministero dell'Ambiente; Enrico Pujia, D.G. per il Trasporto Marittimo del Ministero Infrastrutture e Trasporti e Sebastiano Venneri, Vice Presidente di Legambiente.

La fiera nautica attrae da molti anni migliaia di visitatori e di espositori da diverse parti del mondo.

Acta ha esposto il suo innovativo Generatore di Idrogeno insieme al Generatore di Corrente a celle a combustibile da 1KW, usato per dare l'energia ad un motore fuoribordo elettrico.

La commissione tecnica che componeva la giuria al Qualitec Award, ha selezionato Acta come vincitrice, per l'innovazione della tecnologia del Generatore di Idrogeno EL100, per i costi contenuti e per il totale azzeramento delle immissioni nocive nell'ambiente, tre caratteristiche giudicate fondamentali per promuovere le future tendenze, anche nel settore nautico, alla sostenibilità e all'impatto ambientale zero.

Questo riconoscimento rappresenta un enorme qualificazione a livello industriale per Acta che rende finalmente accessibili le applicazioni a celle a combustibile, all'uso domestico. The Seatec exhibition, which ran from 10 to 12 February, is Italy's leading nautical and marine supplies exhibition attracting thousands of visitors and exhibitors. The Company exhibited its hydrogen generator coupled with a 1KW fuel cell power generator used to power an electric outboard motor. The technical judges of the Qualitec panel selected Acta's hydrogen generator for its innovation, low cost and environmental profile, three features which were judged to promote the nautical sector's aspirations for sustainability and zero environmental impact.

This award represents significant industry recognition for Acta, whose inexpensive hydrogen conversion technologies are making fuel cell applications more practical and accessible for everyday use. The EL100 Hydrogen Generator is a simple, compact, low-cost and highly efficient system which is ideal for markets with high volume demand for reliable, local energy, including marine, light transport, UPS and domestic and commercial power.
Acta shared the First Place award with Volkswagen for their introduction of a new marine propulsion system.
