The growing energy requirements of society, and the need to reduce dependency on fossil fuels, is driving the development of a hydrogen society based on renewable energy sources. The market already offers hydrogen production on an industrial scale, fuel cell technology is ready for wide scale distribution, and renewable energy generation systems are within the reach of all. What is missing for the hydrogen society to become a reality is a hydrogen infrastructure for consumers. Moreover, the current systems of hydrogen production are diffi cult to integrate with renewable energy sources.
